Solar Power Mirror
The Solar Power Mirror (heliostat) is the companion building to the Solar Power Tower. A mirror reflects sunlight onto a tower to heat it up. Mirrors do not produce power or fluid themselves, they only feed heat to a linked tower, which uses that heat to convert fluid.

How it works

When placed, a mirror automatically links to the nearest Solar Power Tower within 50 m and rotates to aim at it.

Each linked mirror generates heat only during the day. The amount scales with how high the sun is: it peaks at 15 around solar noon and falls off toward sunrise and sunset. At night a mirror produces 0 heat.

A mirror only contributes heat when it has a clear line of sight to its tower.

The tower sums the heat of all its linked mirrors (capped at 600) and uses it to run its recipes — see Solar Power Tower.

Each mirror is worth at most 15 heat and a tower’s heat caps at 600, so about 40 mirrors is the useful maximum per tower at solar noon, however using additional mirrors extends the length of time the tower continues producing by providing more heat around sunrise and sunset. Tips

Build mirrors close enough to the tower to stay within the 50 m link range, and keep the line of sight clear (no foundations, walls, or other buildings between mirror and tower).

Mirrors are daytime-only: production ramps up after sunrise, peaks at midday, and falls off before nightfall.
