Satisfactory Mod Manager for Server Hosts

Are you a server host company looking to ensure your servers are compatible with Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM)? This is the page for you. All players looking to play modded Satisfactory will be using SMM, so being compatible avoids users switching to another compatible host instead.

To ensure compatibility, check the following:

  • Ensure you have a modern (S)FTP implementation to avoid random connection drops

  • Allow (S)FTP access without hiding files or blocking dlls

    • SMM must view the game executable file to detect the server.

    • Many mods have custom dlls required to function. Note that all dlls are scanned by virustotal before they are allowed on ficsit.app.

    • Some mods create or read other files and folders in the game install directory to function properly.

  • Allow the user to temporarily stop the game server without it automatically starting up again

    • Mods can’t be added or removed while the game is running.

  • Test out SMM yourself

    • The best way to ensure it’s working is to try it out the same way your users would!

    • The source code for both SMM and the underlying ficsit-cli are available if they would assist with your troubleshooting.

  • (Bonus points) Allow users to temporarily prevent their servers from updating to newer game versions

    • Some users like to run previous versions while waiting for mods to be updated.

  • (Bonus points) Also expose port 8080

    • In addition to the ports used by the base game, some server monitoring mods like Ficsit Remote Monitoring use this port for communications.
